Hello St Johns Sunday School!!
Glory be to Jesus Christ!

I’m excited to share that, in lieu of traveling to Appalachia this summer, Lynne Goetz and Hailey McKane have worked with Father David to organize a community project at our own church!
Four wooden icon shrines, and one wooden cross, will be built and erected around the grounds of St John’s in time to be blessed on the Feast of the Dormition of the Theotokos at the end of August.
We are looking for volunteers to assemble the shrines, which can be done from home, as well as to dig and place the posts, after church Sunday August 23rd. Donations of perennial plants or flowers to surround the base of the shrines would also be gladly accepted!

Hello Orthodox Youth Mission Team!

Glory to Jesus Christ! Glory Forever!

Do you know what time it is???? It’s BIS—Butts in Seats time. That’s right, if corona hadn’t turned the world upside down we’d all be climbing into our vans and heading to West Virginia this morning for our summer mission trip with ASP. I don’t know about you, but I’m definitely mourning that loss, but it was not what God had planned for us at this time and I’m trusting in His goodness to guide us forward and hope you and your families are doing well and staying healthy. Who’s free for a Zoom call tomorrow at 4 p.m.? It would be great to check in and see everyone and hear what you’ve all been up to. If you can join us, the Meeting ID is 6915442566; Password 242787.

We ‘d like to use this upcoming week to celebrate 10 years of OYMT mission service. Share through our social media @oymt1 some of your favorite memories and reflections from our past years of serving. We can also talk about what you’re doing now to make Christ present and future plans too. We’ll be inviting past team members to participate as well. So start looking for your favorite pics to post and we’ll see you tomorrow afternoon!
